Right. Here is the thread.
I've only be instructed to make the thread.
Basically, we all (mostly) thought it'd be cool to either get some Pen 'n' Paper roleplay going over the internet, or maybe co-oping the Neverwinter Nights (the first one) campaign.
Now then, let's discuss.

Easy. Happy and willing to GM. Pick a system. Chances are I've got it.
Happy to run an NWN or NWN2 server, too (points out that he has a 2nd box that he can merrily use to run a campaign server from).
Edit:
For anyone interested in the P&P RP systems I have (this is off the top of my head, so I'm bound to miss some)...
Original D&D AD&D 1st Edition AD&D 2nd Edition D&D 3e D&D 3.5E Mutants & Masterminds 2E Rolemaster 2E Rolemaster Standard System Spacemaster 2E Spacemaster Privateers Star Wars Star Wars 2E Star Wars d20 Star Wars d20 Saga Edition Vampire: The Masquerade (sorry, never hugely got into White Wolf's games) Rifts Palladium Palladium 2E Heroes Unlimited Hero System 5E (Revised) Mechwarrior 2E Mechwarrior 3E Middle Earth Role Playing Lord Of The Rings RP Buffy the Vampire Slayer (yes, I'm a geek) Shadowrun Shadowrun 2E Shadowrun 3E

I'm up for trying any/all of the above, although there's a few on Shad's list I'm not so enthusiastic about (Mechwarrior, Vampire & Shadowrun jump straight to mind) Also.. I think Shad's geek status is in danger.. no Firefly RPG! I've not got so many RP books anymore, but I can offer: Original D&D AD&D 3rd Ed Star Wars (d20) Star Trek (LUGtrek) Star Trek (Decipher) Blood of Heroes (Surprised Shad's not tracked this one.. the best Superhero RP I've come across) Shatterzone (Best original Sci-Fi RP... ever) Cyberpunk 2020 (2nd Edition) I haven't run any campaigns in a looong time though. Also - If we're looking at the PnP idea... something like www.openrpg.com/ might be worth a look. I've not tried it myself, only stumbled across it last week, but looks like a good idea. and it's FREE!

Well, it might be worth pointing out that over the last few years I've exclusively purchased D&D 3.5, so most of my collection is severely out of date, and I haven't bought Firefly because a) I still haven't seen it all (DVDs are on my shelf at home) and b) my ongoing D&D campaign takes up all my RP time outside of CoH.
For anyone interested, M&M 2E is a brilliant d20 adaptation for superheroes, but the most comprehensive Superhero RPG I've come across is Hero System (also called Champions in some places). It is hugely flexible, though character creation is a PAIN sometimes. And I managed to build a decent version of Richard for both of those games (In M&M he needs PL13 to have everything, but a full version of him can be built with the standard 350 points in Hero).
Talking about the choices to which you mention you are less enthusiastic about - Mechwarrior is only worth it if you incorporate BattleTech, too, which would be very hard to do online, I only have the Core V:tM book, ditto Shadowrun, so I'm not a great fan of those three for this idea.
Heck, for simplicity's sakes, I'd always suggest a d20 variant, since I know all the rulesets pretty much off-by-heart. Heck, NWN works.

Personally, I'd rather go for anything that's in a more fantasy setting.
At the least something that isn't Superheroes, as I'd like to see how we all RP when we're not spandex'd up. xD

Well, I'd be up for it. Although i'm a total noob and havent played any PnP RPing ever so would need babying through it all >.> <.< I dont have either of NWN or NWN2, but having had a look around, I can probably either get them really cheaply off the net, or i could see if they have anything in stock down at the shops near me (which I do remember seeing some form of NWN at). And yes, fantasy setting does sound interesting. I always did like throwing fireballs around on things like that

Okay, just checking my installs of NWN. Please ensure that you have the SoU and HotU expansions and are running the latest version of the game (check the updates).
I'll post server details as soon as I'm sorted out with it, and PM you all the password.

Finally (after over a year) found my NWN disks.
Oh, guess that means noone wants to play Paranoia. Nevermind. Sooner or later someone will, and they.... I mean, you will be sorry.

Hmm...
NWN I can do, will take a trip into town (unlike Plas, I can't find the second of the 3 discs, now I actually have a reason to go out and get it again)
As for any other system, well, any is good for me as I'm shockingly clueless on the whole subject, never PnP RP'd before but always wanted to try it, so whichever is picked (if any IS picked) I'd have to learn from scratch. Better to stick to a system people have knowledge of to help newbies out though I guess

Right, after the better part of an evening, we've managed to get the NWN server thing up and running. Guess all we need is evil plots on Shad's side, and a schedule. Oh, and in Paranoia, it is treason for the players to know the rules. Treason is punishable by death.

And, after a bit of work with my router, I have now got my set-up so that I can run the server from one machine and the game from the other. Not going to be online on 20 Feb, as usual, but if anyone's interested in having a look-see and a trial run-around on Thursday, let me know.
And I always have plot.

Muahahaha!
Right, this is proving a very interesting challenge. Oh, and if anyone thinks I'm leaping in and bossing people around, let me know and I'll back off (but I will point out that I am *not* going to leave my second PC online running an NWN server all the time, but I'm more than willing to host one as often as I can).
Now, the questions that spring to mind (as I think of them) are these:
When are people available? Due to scheduling conflicts, weekends look pretty promising (otherwise we're looking at Tuesday nights and Friday nights during the week, and that's only because of commitments Plas and I have, let alone the rest of you!).
What are we doing? Well, if it's okay by everyone, I intend to run the core campaign from NWN with a plot of my own running alongside it (and completely separate to it). This would be while I work up my own maps and adventure (which I lost in The Great Upgrade a couple of years ago).
How the heck are you going to run your own adventure in the core campaign? I'm going to hack the modules (which sounds worse than it is), create copies, add resources (NPCs, equipment and the like) and host a HakPack (which will be quite small) and ask you all to download it to your override folders. I won't need to do this to start off with, though, so don't worry too much - we'll make a start on the core campaign and I'll add my bits as and when I can.
Can I play my Wiz20/Ftr10/WpM10 with straight 90 stats? Well, firstly, why the heck do you have such a crap character? And secondly, no. However, I'm not particularly mean. The character generator in NWN is a pain in the backside, so here's how it works. I have in my head a rough idea of the sorts of stats you should have (and they are better than those the game lets you have). So, when you make your character (yes, a new FIRST LEVEL character!), simply make sure that you have the right INTELLIGENCE score that you WANT the character to have (and if you all end up with INT 18, I'll be very upset) and other scores to meet the prerequisites for feats you want at L1. I will then modify your characters in-game. Equipment comes from standard in-game drops until I get my modifications sorted.

Well.. I'm all installed and ready to go.. whenever is decided. Complete with altitis already.. I spent a good portion of today taking about 10 or so characters through the tutorial prelude in the core campaign - which takes them to lvl 3.
Oh well.. just as well I kept the lvl 1 versions too.
