*Alita taps out a short text 'I love you' message on her cell-phone and sends it to Lu. Then makes her way across the garage and hugs her Ford*

Samantha Huntington reached inside her own mind and flipped the switch linking her phone to the Alliance comm-net.

In seconds she was giggling, then laughing, then holding her ears in horror.

"Oh, God, Dicky, shut up!"

She continued to listen to the frankly abominable rendition that would be enough to make Stevie Wonder go deaf as well as blind, and when it finished she sighed heavily.

"351 are you and Helena playing games again?"

No answer.

"Thanks. I thought so. Right, message to Richard via the Warriors comm, please..."

She started a slow hand-clap.

"Message ends. New message to Kit, please. Private. Do not broadcast."
