Farewell Bash

(This message is recieved, both by email and post, to pretty much anyone whom Alfred has had contact with during his time in Paragon. This information seems to come from the Freedom Corps registry in the cases of people Alfred does not know so well.)

Dear [name],

You are cordially invited to attend the farewell gathering of Professor Alfred Bester, this Friday the 9th of February, at Psyche House ('The Tower') in Steel Canyon. Professor Bester is returning to London during this month and wishes to say goodbye to his friends and acquaintances in an informal and enjoyable way.

However, this shall be a festive occasion. Food and drink will be provided free of charge, as well as entertainment. A wide variety of alcohol will be availiable, but bringing one's own is not discouraged. The recommended dress code shall be fancy dress, or a costume party as better known in the United States. However, this is not required.

The building's doors will unlock at 8.30pm, with the official start of the event at 9pm. The party will continue until everyone has either left or passed out.

Alfred hopes to see you all there.

(As the letter says, this is from 8.30-9pm on Friday until whenever everyone goes away. Everyone is invited if they wish to be, and influence can be gifted to people if they need it for costume changes. It will take place in a specifically created SG base for the occasion - if you are in a SG and wish to come, contact @lukeguk or Telepath for a coalition arrangement, and if you are not in an SG, a temporary membership of the entirely OOC 'The Tower' supergroup is availiable.)

Ves opened the door to his Talos home, picking the mail from the mat and dropping on the coffee table in the living room as he passed by to head upstairs to check that Nyu's sleep hadn't been disturbed.

Satisfied that she was still as comfortable as he could make her, he kissed her tenderly on the cheek and made his way back to take a seat and check the post.

"Credit card, no thanks. Home insurance, got it covered. Ooo, this isn't the usual junk mail" he muttered as he carefully sliced the envelope open with the tip of a claw and started to read the invitation inside.

"Dear Veskit and Nyu, you are cordially invited to attend the farewell gathering of Professor Alfred Bester, this Friday........ This has to be a f**k**g wind up. After all the shit he's put us through these last few months he can't seriously expect people to actually attend this thing" then after a few seconds thought he almost spat in anger "Pfft, no doubt the bloody sympathisers will be going, gutless back stabbers the lot of 'em. Well I hope they're all very happy, and I also hope the whole building falls down on their heads, not like they'd be missed."

A brief burst of energy lanced from his eyes to strike the corner of the letter as he made his way outside and closed the door. As flames licked across the paper it was dropped to the sandy beach and ground into the sand under foot.

Alfred's farewell party has been postponed to the same time and place on Tuesday the 13th February, due to the Brighton meet, among other things.
