I'm not gone anymore. Ye olde hard drive packed in and I had to get me a new one. While losing all my stuff was.... unpleasant, I do have a shiney new hard drive that doesn't make any clunking noises.
Also I'm not about this weekend. Friday has been dubbed a "pizza/beer/games night" saturday party and sunday is reserved for sleep

Kay, so I only lasted a week before bringing my sub back up ( ), but probably gonna be focused on SMASH-ing my brute up to 50 for a while. If anyone really needs Lumi or anyone else of mine, hurl a global-tell (@maynia, for those few who may not know yet) or a PM here, but otherwise I'm away from GG until further notice.

Not sure if I'll be on tonight, so I might not be back until Thursday. If I am on tonight, it will only be for a short while.

Quite probably TFing for Thursday and Friday.
Kit will either be off moping or doing something away from the statue anyway.

Everyone loves the hand of fate and Sod's Law, eh?
Having said "Crash incoming, back in 5 minutes" at GG, my PC did indeed crash shortly after CoH closed itself. Unfortunately, when it automatically restarted and booted up again, it had decided to lose all my settings.
Whilst all my files are intact, I have lost: -All Windows themes (so nothing but 'Windows Classic' for my taskbar and such now, despite being on XP) -All System Restore files (No idea how this can even happen, but it prevents a quick fix) -All installed settings for many of my computer's hard components (My internet connection no longer works, since the computer has forgotten how to connect with the modem. The install disk did not help.) -All cookies, saved fields, automatic logins, and so on. -All custom settings for win.ini, boot.ini, and so on.
In short, the computer, whilst being able to turn on and run games and things, is pretty utterly f***ed. And I still have no idea why, or how to fix it. Hence, I have no internet access from home for a while until someone can fix the thing - or, at least, until I get a new computer, but that's unlikely to be soon. >< I'll try and keep up by using the School's computers of course...

Couldn't have put it better myself.

Sounds similar to what happened with mine, which was a case of broken hard-drive.
Although mine didn't actually boot up, it got to the welcome screen and started again, I did lose the restore files though.
You might need to replace, which won't be fun. Then again I'm no expert, so I'll just wish you luck with getting it fixed.

Bah. This lot couldn't organise a lunch meeting.
Guess I'm here today.
MORE edit: Friday's TF has also been put off. Okay, this is more due to RL dropout of the organiser than general disorganisation but....
Anyway, should be around then as well.
As for Luke's computer.. I am a long way from knowing what I'm talking about but..... I guess first point of call would be a thorough disk scan. And back up anything you DO have left before it all goes foomp!
Which install disk didn't help? The internet or the windows?
If all else fails, take it outside and hit it with a big hammer. It won't help but...
a) You'll feel better. b) It may help the case for a new computer, sooner. c) It will discourage the next one from playing up.

To all who pay attention to this sort of thing - You will notice that I'm staying online pretty much all day on this forum at the moment (thanks to work letting this forum slip through the filter) but for this week I'm only intermittently at my own desk, so I won't be able to make the usual instant replies that I usually do. Ah, well. Next week will be back to normal. The week after I'll have even less access than I do right now, but the week after that, I'll be back, in my new job, and able to post with my usual efficiency and speed.
I know this has nothing to do with my availability in-game, but has a lot about my availability on this forum.

Also, quite an important one - I'm on a long weekend holiday this weekend, so I'm not on at all Friday to Sunday.
