welp. so much for finishing that plot of mine.
puter turned off randomly and is refusing to turn back on, after i tried everything I know. mightily ****ing annoyed but there's not a whole lot I can do, I won't have any money for new bits till at least the end of the month probably.
so yeah, out for indefinite period. sorry to people involved in tehplot, but **** happens I guess. more to me than anyone else it seems like a lot. ._.

This kinda thing is highly annoying, I remember my PSU exploding mid Katie TF ages ago, not much fun at all.
If there's anything we can do to help out, let us know okay m'dear, and don't worry, we'll try not to break everything before you return

VES my PC is refusing to play ball. I'm going to run some checks later but I'm going out now so I'll see you later hopefully- sorry. Word, HD with CoH on it disappeared off my system, tried a restart, boot device not found, next thing I know my motherboard hangs at IDE device detection and won't finish POST. removing the HD in question seems to help it work but considering the other one is 20 gigs. Not gonna be on today, obviously

For those of you who haven't noticed, Ves has apparently been unable to get online for a while.
Investigation revealed his PC had decided it was too cold up north and chose to self combust in an effort to keep warm, frying its motherboard and one of the graphics cards in the process.
His ISP then decided it hated being connected to his PC and caused all sorts of problems.
He hopes to be back online soon, but with these electronic things you just can't tell.

If it's not one f*****g thing it's another...
After playing merrily most of the day, new 'puter decides that 30 minutes before GG time is perfect to pop up a little message telling me my display drivers have failed but recovered, then BOOM!!! BSOD!
Can currently boot up in safe mode only, but that means no gaming. Have hunted around for helpful advice but apart from 're-install OS' there's not really many suggested cures.
Guess what I'll be having to spend my night doing (apart from resisting the urge to beat the damned thing with a sharp pointy thing)

Speedy update time...
Have spent the last 2 days discussing the problem with the nice people at Dell. Several hours of which spent with a tech dude remotely accessing my PC to see if anything was managable (and to ensure I'd not screwed something up I assume).
End result, Dell are sending someone to come collect it and take it away (a good thing, the longer I have to look at it the oe likely I am to hurt it. Damned thing was aquired on the 2nd so it's not even a month old.) and hopefully repair it or they'll be replacing it.
The problem itself is a major conflict between Windows Vista and the ATI drivers for my graphics card, leading to the good old Blue Screen of Death constantly. Ves is, and fairly imo, somewht stressed and annoyed at the whole situation, and worst of all there's really no-one at fault so I can't even rant and blame anybody.
Hopefully my super sneaky back up plan will work out nicely (stealing my mum's laptop and installing CoH to use) until my PC's sorted... Guess we'll find out if I manage to make it in-game tonight
