Weekly IC mishing idea

Apologies, this turned out to be a huge waffle of a post

Okey dokey,

So I had this idea, and I mentioned it on The FA in game OOC chat channel thingamy and everyone seemed to think it was a good diea so I thought I would try and maybe expand on it a little here. Hopefully it will also mean people who were not online at the time, or don't have room for another OOC channel can catch up with the idea and yell about what they think.

I noticed that a reasonable number of the FA toons that are regularly online (or have players who are regularly online) are around lvl 40 ish, or as close as to make mishing together a real possibility without struggling with lots of SKs and Exemps etc.

Sooo.....

I thought it might be a nice idea if we planned to get together to do some IC mishing, say once a week, say for an hour or so maybe.

The idea would just be to get some IC teaming done really, maybe to help improve the FA's reputation after *puts hands over Ves's ears* the Alfred calling the group terrorists and such. *takes hands away*.

If some one would be willing to keep a Story arc for this IC teaming, that would be great. The Countess Crey story arc was suggested, which sounds good, considering the FA has a history with Crey.

No one should feel they have to come along, nor shoudl they feel they can't get XP on their FA toon at other times. But I figure as people tend to level more slowly once they get to 40 ish we shouldn't have too much of a problem and the idea would be more to develop the FA IC rather than get XP. But having said that I think we should make the missions appropriate for the levels if we can - lets have fun playing the game at the same time as the RP. Whoa, scary idea.

Anyhoo, I guess the next thing is to figure out when. I know everyone has RL and in game commitments, which is one reason I thought an hour a week might be doable.

So - votes for days and/or times

Personal preference is Tuesdays after 8 pm ish.

I know Fridan has Silent Tempext commitments around that time.

I definitely can't do Wednesdays (pnp RP with the other half and his mates), and I can't do Thursdays before 9:30 pm.

I *think* the possible options (having only a very vague idea of other people's availability) are:

Tuesday (from whenever Silent Tempest meeting finishes)
Thursday (from 9:30pm, oh, but Plas has Kinders and I don't know what time that finishes)
Friday (evening)
Saturday
Sunday

If people could post which of those they might be able to make on a semi regular basis we'll see what we can come up with...

Most likely out of the days I'm available is Friday, as I generally dont have homework to do then. Although any day apart from monday/wednesday is good for me.

This sounds a really fun idea. *whaps it with the 'Ves seal of approval^tm'*

We've talked of doing stuff like this pretty much since day 1 of the FA, but due to large varieties of lvls it wasn't ever really much of an option apart from TF's.

Now then, I'm happy to do any of the available arcs (and will try to save one or two of my own once I've finished the current ones I've started. Damn 2 arc limit)

Only annoying factor for me is the day of choice. Due to a job that sucks ass, my days on and off change every week (4 nights on, 4 off, so an 8 day week as opposed to the usual 7) and unless RL issues are sorted in the rather near future (*crosses finger*) that will remain a factor for me. IF RL stuff does get sorted, I'll be available pretty much anytime, apart from maybe 1 or 2 Fridays a month (when I'll be going to an all night Rock/Metal club which doesn't kick folks out until 7am, so I'll be crawling home around Sunday afternoon when i remember where I live )

Would only be able to do sometime in the weekends due to work. Which means ill either go to bed at 22 ( UK time ). Or have the worst day in my life ( Can already tell you that thats not even enough, but theres no way im going to bed earlier ).

Friday and Saturday ill most likely be around from ...... 14-15 ish untill ... who knows ... 06 the next day.

Well, I wholeheartedly approve of this idea (having discussed it a fair bit with the other half last night).

I'm not available on Mondays or Wednesdays due to other commitments, but otherwise I'm available and happy to team.

It looks as though Friday nights are going to be the best for people for the time being. We can always change it in future if other nights turn out better.

Huge apologies to Veskit because I know he can't make this Friday and I suspect he'll be busy next Friday too, but Lu will try to make it up to Alita and if we can find another day for IC mishing that you're around we will.

I'm going to suggest we meet in the base at 7:30 for IC nattering etc. with a plan to go mishing at 8, earlier if everyone is ready and stuff.

Akkarin, if I'm overstepping the mark on the organisation or anything, give me a whap and tell me to get back in my box. I realise this should maybe come from a longer serving FA member, but I didn't want the idea to go all cold while people thought about doing it.

Oh no, I approve, big thumbs up. Two of them in fact. And a cheesy grin.

Fridaaay though, is a night I most often go out with friends, so I can't make it all regular like. That includes today, I've got a late night BBQ to attend. Since I have college/work on tuesday wednesday and thursday evenings and ST stuff on tuesday, the best time for me is Monday or Sunday.

I know some people are busy mondays, so some point on Sunday would be ideal I think. It's one of those empty days for many people. Of course, if more people are available Friday's, go for it.

Best time for me would be friday or saturday.

Sundays are really bad since ill be leaving at 22 ( UK time ).

Same goes for every other day other than Friday and Saturday, untill a holiday comes up.

Well Lu, Shad, Kit and me all did a sort of test run earlier, and it was great fun. It started around 8 (I think) and lasted about an hour till 9ish. True we only got the 1 mission done but that didnt matter, we had fun and it also allowed us time to do other RP.

Judging by all the time slots, the 1 hour around 8ish looks like the most feasable option, as that allows most of us to get in the team, while allowing us to go and RP at the statue/PD/Go to bed/do other stuff etc. And its a fairly early start so if we have a little run over theres still a fair amount of time for other stuff. Now to just pick a day for it.

Just my thoughts on it, as it was really fun to do earlier ^^

However, next Friday shouldn't be a problem if the meeting I have to attend starts at a sensible time (so anytime before 4pm).

It's the 27th that will see me marching off to find me a mosh pit to spend the night either celebrating my ass off, or drowning my sorrows and letting my masochistic side come out and play (will probably let is come out and play while celebrating, but not until my sadistic side plays first and tires me out). Either way it'll be a blast (this is where all the other rock/metal loons like me start nodding, and all the other people who have no idea what that all means will be sat looking confused as hell)

Hmmm, I had thought Fridays might be a problem, for the reasons 'Rin mentioned. It looks as though it seems to be the best day for most people though. But there is nothing to say we can't try for 2 nights (I know, scary thought, organising 2 FA nights).

And I think if we can make it a regular thing, if some one misses a week or two here and there it isn't the end of the world.

I thought last night went really well. It didn't last too long, so it didn't interfer with other RP or other gaming time. But it got FA members interacting with each other in a hero type situation, which I think was really good. And also a lot of fun too (ooops, I meant, some fun. Don't tell Ves we had lots - he'll get all sulky and upset that he's missing out and we'll have to buy Alita chocolates or some such. )

If people are around on Sunday, we could have a go at doing another IC mishing session Sunday evening, as an adhoc, or 2nd night maybe, and try to see if we can get Fridays going as a reasonably regular thing.

So, meet in the base 7pm on Sunday for another IC FA mishing session for those who are around and fancy coming along - we might even get to see the boss in action, you never know. . Then get together again next Friday, 7:30pm?

Right, that's all the sympathy Ves is getting from me, given that there is a chance he'll be off enjoying himself lots in the near future.

I'm certainly up for Sunday, and words cannot express how funky it is to be doing some IC mishing - I've always enjoyed it, and it's a good laugh, as evidenced by last night!

I might want to bring Dicky out on occassion for this, as long as no one objects too strenuously, but playing with Sam is always fun (insert own innuendo here).

So, this gets my "seal of approval", which happens to be a three-foot long harp seal pup plushie that I got for my better half in 1996. His name is Navy. My better half is silly sometimes. (( But she's here watching this be typed and likes having her very own Navy Seal to take to bed at nights... - Pix ))

So - plan for tonight.

Lu is getting a little unsettled by Crey - she discovered some cloning lab yesterday (final mish of Gordon Stacy story arc) and Janet Kellum has got her looking for a missing girl, but Crey are involved in that for some unknown reason, which makes it all the more fishy.

Lu would like some help finding some retired hero called Night Fox ( Mish is just Defeat Security Chief and his men - not yet got the rescue Night Fox )).

Meet in the base at 7? Or I might try another route this time of Lu getting there and calling for help over the SG channel - which would mean we would get moving more quickly.

Opinions / verdicts / options always welcome. And if anyone else has any missions they want to do, please yell.

Hmmm, I like the weekly IC missioning idea. But this week didn't feel as though it went quite as well as previous times.

I felt as though we were rushing through the missions, which left very little time for the RP aspect of it. The time it takes people to type something for their character is not instantaious unfortunately, and with the running around that was going on, the local chat wasn't heard often because no one stuck around for it. Even when people have the little 'I'm typing something' bubble above their head.

Hehehe, maybe as we get more regular at this we'll get better and I'll remember to tell people IC where we are meant to be going to.

On a sad note, unfortunately I won't be able to make the IC meet this Friday.

I'm doing a *very very* girly thing and spending the day at a spa which also involves an overnight in the hotel. The manic shopping with the girls on the Saturday. Uh oh, heaven help my bank balance. ;D
