OOokay! Exploding eyes is not a reaction I'm used to have. (now all I have to figure out is if that was a good reaction or a bad one. I fear it to be a bad one since, well, people usually are not happy when their eyeballs get blown off) I do have a few more loose sketches (I finished one yesterday, need to scan it first), but I leave you with one I'm rather fond of. Like Iris, I'm a bloody perfectionistt and when I look at most of my pictures, I notice the flaws rather than the strengths, so I can never be happy with them This one is a good example. Yukiko, my katana scrapper again. I find this a rather pretty picture with some good shading (I sketched it in two hours or so, while waiting for friends in the mall) where basically I was exercising the shading of several types of surfaces (skin, cloth, etc) It's a pretty pretty girl done in a rather romantic style,... but all I notice is how her right hand looks horrible,... and how that butterfly resembles a pancake... and don't get me started on her belly button or her katana handle...

As promised, HeatBurn now graces my desk at work. And is drawing some very favourable comments from my co-workers.
Please keep 'em coming! I'm loving them, even those you claim are 'flawed'. I guess as the artist you can't help but notice, but as a viewer, I wouldn't have noticed anything if you hadn't pointed out the bits you don't like.

And now, for the first official Fletched Alliance drawing, I had a good theme, but a hard conception. For a simple reason... I was going to depict a humourous adventure involving Arrow, Vicky, Stone Giant and Richard. But Stone Giant, due to his size, was ruining the balance of the picture, to the point where either the others were depicted with very little detail or I'd need to break out the A3 drawing pad which is always a pain to scan. Until I remembered an old saying from a fellow artist: "When in doubt, chibify it!" So I did. The proportions are all over the place, Stone is more arms than man, but, Alas, I do not care, because THEY ARE DA CHIBIS!! I had the idea for this after Stone took me kindly under his wing and dragged Vicky's mangy ass through a series of missions. One of them against Carnies, where I took a wrong detour and managed to run into a bunch of level 53 carnies with me out of mentor range while trying to get back to the rest of the party.... Poor Arrow had her hands full with Vicky.... Now, I must admit that I don't like resorting to chibis since they are my "Lazy" work. They all look the same and I have the chibifying techniques so honed that I could do them in my sleep. I penciled this during two trips in the subway, inked in half an hour and painted it in an hour. For a few funny details: the adorable nurse costume Arrow is sporting is actually a badly disguised attempt to conceal the fact that I have NO idea what her costumed looks like. I was so busy fireballing carnies and not dying that I hadn't time to stop and stare at her. Richard's look, doing that adorable shadow bunny to distract vicky, came to me after a friend sent me a youtube link with the intro of the Darkwing Duck cartoon. It got me singing the song for several hours in a row ... and got richard looking like the duck hero. I swear I kept saying again and again "I... am the terror that flaps in the night...." while I was drawing him

A quick "Happy New Year" sketch of Vicky's face, drawn, surprisingly, before X-mas. Mostly done on 2B to 6B pencils, to try and play with fur drawing and blurring\distance effects. She looks like something inspired by a magazine cover, though I can't be sure which one inspired me.

A very samurai-style picture of Yukiko, my SR/Katana scrapper, sporting a typical samurai full helmet. Her nickname (Lady Wolf) back in her homeland was earned not only because of the fact that she had several huge wolfhounds with her, but also because of this rather imposing (and beautiful) wolfish helmet\facemask ensemble. It was loosely inspired by Princess Mononoke.

I had today a rather long afternoon of studying German Linguistics. Of course, someone HAD to phone me and after a lot of chatting, I realized that once again I had began doodling while I talked. Unfortunately, it was on the nearest available surface, which happened to be my notes for German Linguistics. This unfortunately, is something recurrent about me. A few years ago, I had to explain to my English Literature teacher during my exam why my Yeats poetry book had a page that was so overloaded with doodles that the poems there were unreadable. I think the man suspected that to be an elaborate ploy for cheating in the exam. For some reason, my unconscious doodling was entirely based off GG\FA people. So guess what, I'm NOT going to clean up\fix the images, but I'm giving it to you as is. I vaguely recall wondering, at the begin of the phone conversation (and for no reason whatsoever), how could one draw Veskit's goth eye makeup in profile without making it look as if he was weeping. I believe that was what kicked off the great drawing bash, as I doodled it to try and visualise it... and half an hour later, I had a useless study page, and a bunch of FA\GG COH doodles. So, here's how the game goes. With the exception of two doodles ("The Legion of Catgirls" in the bottom of the page and "The Fugly Catgirl" on the right), all these doodles represent someone belonging to the FA\GG crew. Whoever identifies more of them gets a drawing by me, of whatever character tickles their fancy. 8 people are depicted here -- pay attention to the clues given above, and the fact that I don't know many people around GG. Oh, and at least one might be inaccurate because I'm not sure if said person has the depicted form, but their race has it generally. Have fun!

Hmmm, toughy here....
I can spot (I think)
1) a Red 2) a Keldy Iris (I'm assuming it is Iris) 3) a Vicky 4) a Veskit 5) an Akkarin 6) a Helena...
But I can't quite figure out the other 2. I might guess one might be a Meadow, but that would be very much a guess.
Did I get any right? Or were some of them just me fitting random GGers to your funky doodles?
