Okay, a little while before issue 12 went live a few of us were having a bit of a natter about how much fun a team of Empathy defenders would be. All those buffs flying about meaning virtually no need to worry about endurance, health and other trivial matters.
It was then pointed out that with a whole team of empaths we'd be missing out on a whole world of utility which the other sets provide, like debuffs, control and other such bonuses. So... the basic plan changed a little, instead of an all Empath team, what about limiting it to just Defenders? Still leaves plenty of choices for power set combos, and opens up a shedload more practical options for teaming.
Now then, the idea was shelved due to the people discussing it lacking toon slots at the time, and we'd mentioned holding off until after issue 12 went live, but we kinda got distracted and it wasn't mentioned again, until today.....
So, I finally get to the point. Talk earlier returned to the crazy defender team plan, and once more it met with interested comments and at least a little keen anticipation.
Since people might once more be short of toon slots on Union, how about putting together this Defender team on Defiant? Aside from the server and AT restrictions, anything is fair game (personally torn between Storm / Ice, Dark / Dark and Kin / Psi, though the Stormy is looking like the most likely atm, never lvl'd one and this'd be a blast to do just that)
Anyways... Just wanted to propose the idea, see if anyone else is interested, and see if we can come up with a herd of uber mob-stomping support toons.
(And yes, I know this has been done plenty of times before by other people, and possibly some of you reading this. From all accounts I've heard it's a complete blast, and since the only reason to play is to have fun, why not give it a try?)
