After spending the best part of the night discussing theology with Subaiku of the Silent Tempest and Shanghai an idea was proposed which could prove to be both fun and exciting for all.
An inter SG sparring match to observe the styles of our newest allies members and them to see just how we operate.
Personally Mephiston thought this was a good idea, though that could have been partly due to the fact that it would allow him to see the delightful Subaiku in action. ;D ;D ;D
Shanghai also seemed to like the idea
((This can be done in many highly entertaining ways, 1 Vs 1 matches, FA Vs ST matches, timed free-for-all matches and mixed team matches for example. However, to level out the playing field there may be a need to enforce a lvl cap on some of the matches, can you imagine how much it would suck for those guys if they faced a full FA team with Stone stomping round while the rest of us just flatten anyone left standing? I'm sure the details can be thrashed out to suit everyone, and maybe it could lead to regular events between the groups, complete with grudge matches and the like.
However, I do not wish to commit anyone to anything they have no desire to take part in, and since I'm not the boss in any of my many guises it falls to Rin to give it his official seal of approval, though after some of the matches we've had in the past in the Arena (watching Kat and Rin fight was interesting, less than 30 seconds IIRC) I'm sure we can all have fun and kick some ass at the same time. Anyone else's thoughts on the subject would be greatly appreciated))

Sounds fun!... Count me in!... Haven't had the pleasure of meeting the Silent Tempest guys yet, but I'm sure they are good people.

Sparrin'? Heh. I'd show 'em a thing or two. Shame it ain't a real fight tho'.
((I'd prefere to play Rachis for the FA than Steel Guard for the Tempest as Rachis is more my style of play. Depends on numbers though.))

(( Why not play both? I know that I intend to use all 3 of my FA toons for the matches, mainly in the individual matches but Ves for the team ones if we organise them. The prospect of inter-SG rivalries will be interesting, as any IC teams we form could have the various members trying to out perform each other with highly exciting results, thinking of dramatic last stands and the traditional FA suicidal charge at insane odds, but with people there trying to calm us down or cheering us on, and us doing the same for them if thats their style ))

((The ST are lower lvls. Our highest was Sword of Truth who is no longer with us. Also more conservative fighters too. Except me... who always charges ))

(( 1 step ahead of you my spiney little amigo, besides, where's the fun if you know who's going to win before the fight even starts? I'd much rather exemp Ves down for an even level match than fight someone 20 levels below him, it'd be dull for everyone involved otherwise, tense fights bring out the best in people in my opinion, and a real close match is much more exciting, last time Ves and Rin had a matchj up there was about 1-2 levels difference, and it ended up coming down to whoevers next attack landed first, lucky Ves has good recharge times or he might have gone man down. That was one of the best arena matches I've ever had because it was so close and after the fun of it all I wouldn't have minded losing, it would have been worth it ))

((Fully support the idea, sounds fun. No problem exemping down either, it's far better when it's fair. Of course now we come to a problem, who first? Maybe a leader(s) V leader(s) match?))

(( I say full on gang war first, FA Vs ST, then on with singles matches as this can be done IC, picking out someone who either impressed in the team match or you want to get even with. Make the SG team match a timed one to allow those of us who drop down to get used to which buttons they can still press though, think it's 10 or 20 minutes, which will just be crazy as hell, yay!! ))

Sounds cool. And about my fight with Akk... He can go invisible! Also I demand (another) rematch, damnit!

Yeah, mate. Bring em on, I reckon both sides'd learn a thing or two, and we'd find out somethin about ourselves into the bargain.
We could also do some cross team matches, some of us paired up with some of them, fighting another team of the same mix.
Either way, it'd be a right good event, and lead to much party time in PD afterwards.

Ok a few minor points, 1 : Rin goes invisible when he fights Ves, but it don't stop him from getting his crafty ass kicked ;D ;D 2 : Handicap matches, by which I mean say 2 scrappers Vs 3-4 blasters (depending on numbers and such) mass squishie hunting 3 : Mephiston would be well up for this, since it'd allow him to team up with Subaiku ;D ;D (And yes, he's worse than pre-Nyu Ves used to be for chasing the women, hard as that may be to believe )

Nothing wrong with goin invisible, it's a perfectly valid tactic that allowed my to launch my "uber stealth strike of mega pain and hurting"
Ah squishy hunting, that's always fun.
Cross team ups would be good, lets us build up some relationships between groups.
As for Mephs habits, look at his instructor, it makes sense.

(( Just wait until you see what I've got planned for his lvl 20 cossie. Thinking along the lines of his 'Good old days' battle armour, lots of spikes, skulls and general nastiness. should suit him nicely considering his rather aggressive past, preying on men on the fields of battle in the days when strength of arms was how problems were solved ))
